Everybody wants to be a hero. But only a few attain heroic height and Anoop Khanna is one amongst them. On August 21, 1958, a ‘beacon of hope’ was born in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. It was the time when the whole country was trying hard for a complete transformation. India had just acquired the ‘sovereignty status’ and there was urgent need of some dynamic personalities at all levels of village, block, district, state and nation. So, ‘beacon of hope’ is the most appropriate phrase for a personality like ‘Anoop Khanna’.

At numerous occasions he has proved that he is most apt to receive such recognition. Though, he was born in a small town in Uttar Pradesh but completed his secondary education in Dakpathar (approximately 45 Km far from Dehradun). After completing his schooling, he was back in Moradabad and completed his graduation in B. Sc (Bachelor of Science) from Hindu college Moradabad from Rohelkhand University in 1978. Throughout he maintained a very good academic record excelling in science subjects. Besides being an excellent student he did not limit to his studies and was actively involved in various sports activities too. During his college days, he participated in UP table -tennis championship in 1975-76. Then he was the Ground region champion in 1975, and Dehradun Table tennis champion in 1975. He was also a prominent member of champion Rohelkhand team in the year 1977-78. Even today, he always keeps himself involved with numerous sports activities and the headlines of leading newspapers are testimony to that. Unlike other prominent personalities and leaders, Mr. Khanna has encouraged sports like karate, badminton and athletic games. Probably, as a sportsman, he understands the aesthetic meaning of sports which is not only money and profit centric thing.

As a science student Mr. Khanna has an inclination for the subject and this interest of his inspired him to take up pharmacy business. Today, he has four pharmacy retail counters in Noida. The most astonishing side to his personality is his bigheartedness. He is very closely involved with charity activities. He is patron at the school for mentally retarded children and donated generously for their betterment. Elections saw another facet of this multifaceted person of his when he announced discounts for those who exercised their votes, thus encouraging people.
